Another quick drop in

So I figure something is better than nothing.  This is just another quick hello.  If I had visitors or friends in my home it would be rude for me not to say hello.  So......BIG HELLO to all.

The new job is a bit stressful due to all the adjustments, transitions, etc but it is more stressful for me because of my OCD nature.  The good news is I am learning to CALM DOWN and take a breather once in a while.  It also helps having a very supportive and sweet husband.  I'd be a complete mess (instead of just a partial mess) if my home life was stressful too.  I thank God for that.

Anyway, so I love living in NC.  There's so much to DO, so much to EAT, so much to SEE (but not right now...maybe later).  It's just nice to know that I've got sooo many options.  Another thing is that we are surprised at how  many "us couples" there are and the fact that no one cares that we are IR.  We love it.  My husband and I joke that we are bland and no longer superstars because we are not getting stares from everyone.

Some upcoming plans include more church hunting, finish unpacking, hanging out with family this weekend.  I'm sure there's a lot more to do but this is all I can think of right now.  I'll continue to drop in and provide quick updates until I'm settled then I'll write "real" posts :).

BTW...thanks for dropping in and for leaving your sweet and supportive comments.  I'm about to go check out a few of your blogs!

  1. I'm SO glad you like NC! (Even though we miss our friends being here!) Please tell the hubby hello from us and let him know that Clint talked to your renters and let them know to call him if they need something. I hope things at work calm down soon and you get to start enjoying your new city. We will plan a visit sometime!

  2. Hi! Good to hear your doing well and settling in okay. I'm sure it's going to take some time to fully adjust. Glad there are other couples out there and you feel more comfortable. Good luck with work and let me know if you have any tips on starting a new job as I will be starting a new one in sept. I'm so glad you found a place that you feel at home in. Hope things get better at work and much love to you.

  3. Glad everything is going well in NC. What city are you living in. I lived in Greensboro when I went to college down there. That's so great there are so many us couples. I don't recall that when I was thee over 10 years ago. Hopefully the stress gets less and you will be able to go to all the great places down there. Don't forget to look for a Jamaican restaurant I'm pretty sure you'll be able to find some.

  4. I am happy there are "us couples2 there so you feel comfortable. There are not many where we live so we still get the celebrity stares, LOL :).

This Saturday was the first time we felt that everything is in place, we are more settled compared to four months ago, so don't worry if you can't update us as often as you will like. Enjoy your new job and place.

Take care, a big hug :).

  15. I just came across your blog today and have been reading it probably for the past hour LOL. I just moved to NC a month ago and have been surprised at how my mister and I get far less stares for being IR than we did in SC. Anyhow, I hope you are still loving it and settling in nicely!
