I must be insane for doing this

As I've mentioned in a previous post, I've been doing the Insanity workout videos.  I don't have a goal to lose weight or anything like that.  In fact, I haven't weighed myself in months and I don't plan to weigh myself (unless I go visit the doctor of course).  I guess I want to feel fit and be/?stay fit.  I've also mentioned that I'm trying to have my best pre-baby body (errr...since high school that is...lol).

Anyway, my husband and I have completed 2 weeks of Insanity so far.  We've been getting up around 5am most mornings to do it.  It's definitely a challenge but we like tolerate it so far.  Actually I like getting up and working out with my honey.  It motivates me and I like to start the day with a good workout (except for the last few days because I think I'm getting sick with a cold).  In this post I will show you my Fit Test results, done at days 1, 15, 36, 50, and 63.

Here's what the Fit Test looks like.  During the test, there's one minute to do as many of these as possible.  Trust me, it looks fairly easy until you start doing them.

I will keep you posted as I complete future Fit Tests.  For now, I'm going to go eat more chicken soup and try to take more Vit. C so I can fight this cold.  It is tough working out when I'm sick, especially if the workout is INSANity.

  1. Wow, you've improved in every single area. I'm very proud of you. Coincidentally, I'm home sick with a cold and just watched the infomercial about The Insanity 60 day work out. Good for you! Keep it up! 5am you guys are hardcore!!

  2. You're improving! I love to workout and it makes me feel so good and energized, but every time I see the insanity infomercials, I think "who would be disciplined enough to do that?" And then I met you. WAY. TO. GO. GIRL.

It absolutely sucks to be sick... get some rest and feel better soon.

  3. YOU-GO-GIRL! That is really great you are working out w/ the hubby! It keeps you both accountable! So do you think its for beginners? I have considered getting it, but not sure I'd be able to keep up...think I should focus on losing first than getting Insanity to tone tone tone! Keep us posted and be sure to take care of YOU!

  5. Monique: Thank you. I hope you get better soon too.
    Alicia: LMBO.
Mommy Glow: Honestly I don't know how to answer your question. It's very tough and the people on the videos look like they are in awesome shape already but I think it might be doable for anyone. One of the blogs I follow Motivation Mama Drama is a coach and she may be better able to answer that question if you want to check her out. :)
K.Rock: I think we are probably already there. LOL

  7. Wow... sounds like a good workout! The bunch of kicks look so fun!!! Like some sort of kickboxing or something. I like! The best thing to a workout is that you are doing it with your honey motivating each other. :)

I hope u get well soon. Down some vitC, clarinase and panadol, and go sleep it thru. Drink more water too.!

  9. That is great! My hub and I did p90x together for a while starting at 5:30 in the morning but I am NOT a morning person and love my sleep. Haha!

Just last night he brought it up again that he wants to start back up working out in the mornings (he had Warrior Dash coming up in April). We'll see. I did P90x but I think it serves more to bulk up. I don't wanna bulk up or lose weight, just tone more and get my energy levels back to where they need to be.

Maybe i'll also check out Insanity. From what I see it relies less on weights and other equipment which is good.

    You're doing a great job! Such a motivation! :)

I love that you work out with your husband, too. How sweet!! Those workouts don't look so ad and I do want to be fit. Looking at your arms in those Christmas Party photos has me motivated enough! ;)
