Happenings

Just an update on STUFF in no particular order:
* Watched African Cats: very cute but got a little boring towards the end.  I was tired and it was at the end of the day so that might have been the reason I was falling asleep at the end.  Hubby is all about animals and wild life so it was a must see for us.

* Watched Fast Five: not a movie I was particularly interested in so I was very surprised that I enjoyed it.  It was a fast pace, adrenaline rush throughout.  You know the type where everyone in the movie theater is getting into it.

* Watched Hanna: I really liked this movie but hubby didn't like it as much as I did.  I just like seeing girls kick butt.  It reminded of the movie Salt.  Ok, I know we watched a lot of movies but I guess that's what happens when you don't watch TV. Ha!

* Last week tornado alarms were going off  again (even during the daytime).  They usually go off at night, at least that's what I've noticed while living here.  Also, one night we were awoken from sleep by very loud wind.  It was crazy but I'm glad that's over and I hope we wont have too much of that anytime soon.

* Less than 2 months before we move...yay!  I did some minor packing this weekend.  I got rid of a bunch of clothes and shoes--trying to decide if I should donate or have a garage sale.  If I donate to Goodwill or Salvation Army, they sell it anyway.  I dunno, we'll see.  Any ideas?

* Working out (some with P90X, other times running) but not as often as I would like.  In my mind I want to do it about 5 times per week but I've been slacking some (maybe about 2-3 times per week).  Hubby went running with me one day last week.  This was huge because he hates running, so I really appreciated it (hopefully he's reading this and will come running with me more often--hehe!).  Anyway, I went with him to the gym one day last week also which was monumental for me as I'm going through a phase where I hate going to the gym and would rather workout at home.

* Had dinner with a sweet couple tonight.  We had sushi and hibachi and it was really good.  We spent a lot of the time making fun of our waitress for having such a bad attitude.  The good food made up for it though and we didn't let her ruin our dinner.  That same couple had me over the previous night for barbecue and some other yummy food.

* A close family member got engaged this weekend.  The wedding is coming soon and I'm so excited.  You know I love weddings!

Anyway, that's my little update.  I gotta go get ready for tomorrow.  What's happening with you?

  1. Well now I have a craving for sushi...I kinda dug that movie Salt even tho it's not my usual style of flick. I want to check African Cats on netflix.

Wow you're good, you're willing to do a garage sale?! I'm lazy. I give my clothes away. I used to sell my "luxury" designer items on ebay and craigslist and just dump all else at goodwill, Now I just put all of it outside for the people in my building to take. I don't have the patience for a garage sale.

Yay for runnin w/ hubby. I love when John and I can get to run in the park together.

  3. Love sushi, loved the movie SALT (almost watched it again yesterday but decided I should take advantage of the kids' sleeping and nothing to do Sunday afternoon and took a much needed nap myself).

Excited for you and your move. Moving can always be so exciting. I am thinking about moving myself but I love our school system so much, it will be very hard to decide if I will or not.

Thanks for the update! Good luck selling or giving away your clothing. We purge our house of clutter pretty regularly so when we do we always talk about having a garage sell but it never happens. We end up just giving up to the Salvation Army or Goodwill or having charity organizations come by and pick it up for their cause (I assume they sell and receive profits from it). We DID however, finally actually sell our big ticket item (my husband's Trek bike) because that was over $800 and we were not about to just give that up for free! hahahah

  4. That is a lot of movie watching! I keep hearing that Fast Five is sooo good! It's not my kind of movie either, but I have a feeling hubby might talk me into seeing it this weekend.

  5. Wow, you guys watched so many movies. I love it. Sounds like you've been having a good time. I would also like to exercise 5 days a week! Perhaps after the wedding. It's such a busy time for us.

I'm happy to hear you weren't affected by the tornado.

If you do decide to donate the clothing you can get a receipt and write it off on your taxes. All you have to do is itemize how many shirts, pants etc and guesstimate what they're worth. If you don't feel like having a yard sale.

Have a great week...Sushi sounds yummy.

  6. Sushi in the words of my daughter Kai, makes my heart super happy! lol.... So happy to hear that you weren't affected by the Tornado. I gotta check out African Cats when I'm not too tired (thanks for the advice) because I really wanted to see it.
Hope you have a great week!

  7. OLU: Your daughter is so funny. Have a great week too.
Monique: Yah, I know you must be getting excited about the wedding. We are time limited so a tax right off may be a better idea.
Tiffany: I really was pleasantly surprised about Fast Five. I hope you enjoy it too.
Rania: I love naps! But I don't do them often enough. I agree with you about the Trek Bike--although we are leaving our entire master bedroom furniture and TV.
Enfermera: You guys are awesome. I know you know that already but I just wanted to let the world know that too :). Love ya'll too :)
Dani: Nice of you to just put your clothes downstairs although I'm chuckling about it when I try to picture it in my mind.
