Starting today I begin a new challenge. You guys know that I like a good challenge. Remember Insanity? When I set a goal to do something by a certain time with a fixed schedule I'm usually very successful. You would think that I would use that information to be more productive but instead I do the opposite. If I set out on a detailed plan to do something there's no doubt that it will be done, so sometimes I think I unconsciously don't plan. Well, that's the excuse I'm using right now.
Anyway, back to the 90 Day Challenge. You are probably wondering what it is, huh? Alright, I've been following a blog called Raising Olives (authored by Kimberly) for the past few weeks. It's about a very precious large family and how they make things work for them while remaining faithful to God. Anyway, on Kimberly's blog she is starting up a 90 Day Challenge to read through the entire Bible.
I am a Christian and surprisingly I have never read through the entire Bible. I find this strange so I'm jumping on the train to complete this Challenge. You can join me if you like. You can find out more information by visiting Raising Olives blog. Start date is April 1, 2011. Here is a link to the schedule (which I got from her website).
I really want to do this as it's very important to me. I know that I'll have to make adjustments in my routine for this to be successful but I'm ready for the challenge. Let me know if you decide to join :)
Mrs. K
I would love to do this but I'm already in Ezekeil. I still have a long way to go. I started reading the Bible back in September 2009. It's a shame that I haven't finished it yet. I read a little at a time. Maybe this will be my motivation to finish it.
ReplyDeleteThat's an awesome blog by the way.
ReplyDeleteWow, that's an awesome challenge. I am going to try to read the Bible more often but not take up the challenge I know I will fail :).
ReplyDeleteI encourage you Mrs K, I am right behind you. You can do it.
Reading the Bible through completely was my resolution this year. I bought one of the chronological Bibles that has things in the order they happened and so far I really like it. I'm only 1 day behind!! Good luck on your challenge!
ReplyDeleteHow's it going. I decided to start the challenge and start from scratch. I'm keeping up with the schedule they made. How are you doing?
ReplyDeleteYou are the best! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for dropping by guys.
ReplyDeleteRedbabe: you are so sweet.
Keya: I'm glad you decided to join. It will be very challenging for me too but we can do it. I know it will be more challenging for you, especially with 2 kiddos. So far, I'm doing good with it. It's a lot of reading though. I hope I can continue to keep up with it. I will keep you updated.
D: Thanks. Good luck with yours too. Hubby has one of those one year Bible's so if this doesn't work out, I'll do that. But I'm hoping this works out :)
Toi: thanks for the encouragement :)
I would have loved to do this with you; however, my church is doing a 21 day fast and I chose to join in and do the Daniel Fast. But alone with this I have added a bible readings each day from http://www.youversion.com/ which will help me with becoming for focused on Christ. On this site they do have the 90 day plan where they send you scriptures to read so that you finish the bible in 90 days.
ReplyDeleteGood luck and I look forward to reading about your journey.
Great idea! My husband just recently challenged himself to read the Old Testament (the New Testament is sooooo much more read). He said now he knows why -- there's a lot that just sounds crazy. Such a different culture! Lol.
